The TWOC Healing Project was founded by Toi Washington-Reynolds in Birmingham, AL in 2019, later relocating to Georgia in 2020. Its overarching mission is to combat the erasure of trans lives, narratives, and contributions to society, and to prevent their erasure from the greater tapestry of humanity.
The organization runs five key campaigns:
I Was Here This- focuses on building and strengthening community relationships, providing a platform that integrates queer and trans pioneers, icons, and artists into the broader community.
Lifting Our Voices to Vote -This civic engagement campaign supports trans women of color voters in the South, working to eliminate barriers that some trans women may encounter in the voting process.
AIDS Walk Atlanta (AIDS Walk ATL TWOC) - A health advocacy campaign that mobilizes the TWOC community around HIV/AIDS awareness and solidarity, participating in the Atlanta AIDS Walk to center trans women of color in public health conversations.
December to Remember - This campaign is themed around radical self-love during the holidays, centering and advocating for authentic peace and true family for trans women of color.
Together, these campaigns reflect TWOC Healing Project's commitment to civic engagement, health equity, community visibility, and healing — particularly for trans women of color in the South.

AIDS WALK ATL
We are passionate about raising awareness and funds to fight HIV and AIDS. With support from AHF’s Atlanta AIDS Walk 2024, we launched the Healing On Purpose Wellness Space, the first Black trans women-led healing center offering holistic care for people living with HIV/AIDS.
